Christie's Spring Gem Auction

On the block and on display for the discerning collector.

The 'Star of Kashmir' sapphire ring, (est $ 2.5m) a 26.24 carat diamond ring ($ 2.8m), and a 23 carat natural cushion-shaped emerald ring.($ 1.5m)

Set of two pear-shaped Fancy Pink diamonds weighing 5.79 and 5.68 carats, suspended by clusters of round, pear and marquise-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 19.25 carats."
Estimated at $ 3.5m to $ 4.5m.
Star of the auction is a symmetrical, internally flawless diamond of 101.73 carats — one of the biggest of its kind — and is predicted to become one the world's most famous diamonds. Christie's said the rough stone weighed 236 carats when it was extracted from the Jwaneng mine in Botswana.

The gem was graded with the best colour, D, the best clarity, flawless, and the best purity, Type IIa.

The auction is set for May 15 in Geneva and naming rights go to the successful bidder.
