Nathaniel Albert Landriault arrested after 89 year-old woman injured

Abbotsford police say a suspect has been arrested for snatching the purse of an 89-year-old woman as she left a credit union. As the elderly woman was getting into the passenger side of a vehicle, a man grabbed her purse and threw her to the ground. The suspect ran northbound from the parking lot.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of various injuries including scrapes and abrasions. After police released photos of the suspect on Monday, they received dozens of tips identifying the man by name. Officers tracked him down Monday night. The man hid briefly in the bushes before taking off on foot. Officers chased him down and arrested him.

The 25-year-old is expected appear in court to face one charge of robbery.
