|Courtenay resident Bryce Cameron McDonald, who refused to reveal the location of at least 30 missing firearms, was sentenced to more than three years in prison on Monday for a dozen gun-related convictions. McDonald was sentenced to 40 months in prison and a lifetime ban on possession of firearms.
McDonald, 34, was convicted in April of 12 charges, including careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and storing a firearm contrary to regulations.||Anti-gang police raided his home three years ago and found 19 firearms and cocaine. What they didn't find was 30 other restricted weapons McDonald had purchased.|
|The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team found a bag with 3 guns near 76th Avenue in Surrey on Sept. 17, 2013. They traced one of them back to McDonald.|
The judge expressed grave concern over the guns that vanished and found McDonald's explanation “strange and probably sinister” and characterized it as "after-the-fact fabrication". Police said he had links to an organized crime group. His Facebook page is plastered with Hells Angels members and HA supporters.
