Canadian drug mule Melina Roberge jailed for maximum eight years

Melina Roberge, then 22, was one of three people arrested on board the Sea Princess after it docked in Sydney in August 2016. She had spent about seven weeks on the ship after leaving the UK, stopping in Ireland, the USA, Bermuda, Columbia, Ecuador and Peru. Roberge and her travel companion Isabelle Lagace posted glamorous pictures of their travels on social media.

Judge Traill accepted the naive escort was led astray by a much older man. “The sugar daddy it would seem had a big impact on her life. He charmed her and he spoiled her.” Andre Tamin, 64, has also pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later this year.
